    Job Summary


    Join our Canadian leadership team!  You will manage the day-to-day operations of the Canadian merchandising and marketing team. Ensure our customer strategy is aligned with our product category model and develop marketing plans to engage customers with our value proposition. You will coach and develop a team of merchants and marketing specialists. Responsible for developing the Canadian category and marketing strategy by collaborating with sales leadership, operations and IT.


    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities


    • Utilizes current market data (industry/competitive) to drive and align merchandising strategy with sales team execution. Determines vertical specific category approach and collaborates on strategic direction of team.
    • Manages financial targets within marketing and merchandising and facilitates guidelines, pricing strategy, and pricing optimization. Collaborates with leadership to align merchandising/marketing strategy and execution with the business.
    • Leads merchandising and marketing - new concept development, marketing collateral (catalog, tabloids, flyers, etc), vendor services and supply chain issues.
    • Sources and builds a network of relationships with outside vendors who can support local and national merchandising initiatives.
    • Works with 3rd party marketing vendors to develop and produce customer collateral
    • Collaborates with Purchasing and Operations on forecasting and supply chain set-up for all merchandising.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS/BA is preferred but not required
    • 7+ years in marketing and merchandising role
    • 3+ years in a leadership role managing a team of 5 – 15 marketing/merchandising professionals
    • Proven history of successfully coaching and mentoring various levels of individual contributors
    • Experience setting and managing goals and budgets
    • Strength in creating culture of growth and transparency
    • MS Office Suite with proficiency in Excel, reporting and metrics
    • Proficiency with using creative publishing suites
    • Strong presentation skills to various levels within an enterprise environment
