Job Description

Job Summary:

 

Maintains close working relationships with and generates new business from existing key customers. Generates new leads and potential key customers through prospecting, market intel and networking. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Works with internal support team to maximize sales and revenue growth. Gathers detailed information about accounts, identifies decision-makers, and understands strategic business challenges and priorities.

 

Position Purpose:

    

Build relationships, develop plans to optimize sales and profitability for targeted key/national accounts, oversee the implementation of these plans and drive purchasing decisions. Drive sales by creating, executing and communicating business plans to grow sales for HD Supply

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and maintains business relationships. Strategically plans customer visits to cultivate relationships, perform presentations, offer innovative programs and communicate plans.
  • Researches, develops and acquires account opportunities. Effectively communicates HD Supply value proposition and develops strategy to acquire competitive business.
  • Provides monthly, quarterly and annual reports and updates.
  • Develops and executes profitable business plans for managing existing and newly acquired accounts and implements those plans effectively.
  • Negotiates national contracts and rebate programs consistent with industry management goals.
  • Teams with individuals within sales, operations and other key corporate personnel to communicate account plans, pricing, and offer assistance to drive sales. Responsible for linking to other HD Supply entities where appropriate.
  • Participates in local and national trade associations and conferences.
  • Partner with key suppliers to enhance and/or encourage value added programs
  • Performs administrative support including pricing updates/changes, rebate management, reporting, inventory support, presentations, execution tracking, custom catalogues and pricing files

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing National Accounts in a Supply Chain environment preferred.
  • Experience building relationships with Construction and/or Industrial partners
  • Experience driving synergies with internal and external partners to ensure growth and execution

 

Career Level Dimensions:

  • Training/Experience: Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field; University degree preferred
  • Problem Complexity: Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Autonomy: Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the results expected. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues
  • Leadership: May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and execution of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing responsibilities.

 

Environmental Job Requirements:

  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Will be on the road frequently
  • Moderate lifting may be required
