HD SUPPLY / BRAFASCO BRANCH MANAGER

 

Stoney Creek/Hamilton Branch

The Branch Manager will report directly to the District Manager and will be responsible for leading a team of associates. The mandate for the Branch Manager will be to profitably grow the Branch through the development and execution of a strategic growth plan focused on sustainable revenue and margin growth, underpinned by a strong focus on team development, collaboration, empowerment and accountability. This will entail becoming the “expert” of his/her respective territory with the objective of becoming the leading provider in the market. He/she will develop and execute a multi-channel sales strategy with a focus on growing accounts with existing clients and securing net new clients for the Branch. The Branch Manager will spend a significant amount of time out of the office branch, meeting face-to-face and building relationships with existing and potential clients. This will include working with the field sales force when needed, to maximize share of wallet from specific customers. This collaborative teamwork will be a key driver to accelerated growth of sales and profits.

The Branch Manager will be measured on budget attainment (sales, GM%, EBITDA%, DOH), leadership (hiring and developing talent, strategic thinking and leading others); focused transformation (balanced decision making, planning and organizing, championing change, business acumen); effective collaboration (building effective relationships with customers, associates and suppliers; compelling communication) and flawless execution (safety ownership, customer passion and driving results).

This is a hands-on sales and leadership role for a highly motivated, driven, and proactive sales leader with a strong “hunter” orientation and track record of identifying opportunities and building relationships in a highly competitive marketplace. The Branch Manager will be responsible for providing oversight of the Branch’s day-to-day sales activities and for providing the operations leadership required to drive profitable revenue growth.

Critical to success in this role will be the incumbent’s strategic capabilities coupled with superior business acumen and a people focused leadership style. A “player-coach”, that is a strong communicator and passionate developer of people, the Branch Manager will be a down-to-earth, masterful relationship builder that will develop trust and a positive rapport both internally and externally with ease.

12-18 MONTH DELIVERABLES

  • He/she will be achieving/exceeding business targets and will have successfully developed and be executing a strategic growth plan and multi-channel sales strategy that is focused on profitable revenue growth. There will be a demonstrated pipeline of “wins” as it relates to new client acquisition and he/she will have used their market insight to identify new ways to drive sales/revenue and set the business apart from the competition. Moreover, he/she will have effectively worked with the field sales force when needed to maximize share of wallet from specific customers.
  • He/she will have benchmarked and evaluated the existing team. This will have entailed the development and implementation of strategic initiatives around redeploying resources and developing talent, with a focus on collaboration, empowerment and accountability. He/she will have developed and nurtured a cohesive, high performance, high-energy team environment built on the basis of trust, integrity, and shared responsibility that is focused on customer success.
  • He/she will have developed and implemented measurable processes and systems at the Branch, resulting in efficiencies and margin improvements.
  • Demonstrating his/her hands-on management style, he/she will have earned the credibility, respect and trust of the organization through both demonstrated competency/consistency and his/her own transparent and authentic style. Within the organization, he/she will be seen as a strong supporter, coach and mentor amongst their peers and will have made a significant contribution to the growth of the Branch. Externally, clients will view him/her as a trusted advisor to their business.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelors Degree/College Diploma in Business or a related field combined with 10+ years of sales leadership experience in a related and similarly complex industry, where they have multi-channel sales experience- ideally within industrial and/or commercial markets- and have delivered superior business results.
  • Results oriented and goal driven, the ideal candidate possesses excellent management and leadership skills, where they have a successful track record in managing a P&L, meeting/exceeding both top and bottom line objectives.
  • The Branch Manager has a refined business acumen and the ability to effectively work through others. In this respect, he/she is skilled in setting a vision and successfully engaging and rallying a team to achieve beyond their potential.
  • He/she will be quick to recognize and act on opportunities in the marketplace, bringing a sense of urgency and a successful track record in developing new business and growth opportunities.
