Job Description

Job Title: Counter Sales & Delivery Associate

Subfamily Description

Develops customer relationships by identifying customer needs, informing customers about the company's products or services, providing solutions and recommending new and better products. Handles customer requests and issues via telephone, fax or email. Coordinates with the outside sales team and other departments to ensure that customers receive the best service possible.


Position Purpose

Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and generating new sales opportunities. Respond to customer order and quotation requests received via outside salespersons, telephone, e-mail, written, and faxed correspondence. Responsible for receiving, entering and processing orders. Some delivery work may be required.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Provide exceptional customer service

Develop relationships and partnerships and establish HD as a First Choice Supplier to our customers

Ability to analyze our market and champion sales initiatives to increase overall market share and profitability

Exceed sales goals and targets established

Identify up-selling and add-on sales opportunities

Process P.O. and complete other paperwork as required; responsible for cash and credit card transactions

Order products, arrange deliveries, timely communication with customers regarding order status

Pack and ship orders as required

Ensure counters are properly stocked (reference Branch Supervisor revisions on job posting)


Qualifications and Experience

HS Diploma or GED required

1-3 years’ experience in customer service and/or sales

Technical Aptitude

Computer Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs

Must have a valid G-license

Drivers abstract required meeting the following minimum requirements:

  • 2 or fewer speeding tickets, and,
  • No distracted driving tickets/infractions.
